Emma Carney and friend Connie Easby were born two days apart and met when they were six months old. They were inseparable until the Easbys moved away when Emma and Connie were four years old. The girls kept in contact with one another by email and meet up twice a year.

In January, Emma decided to support the Gorilla Organization, learning 400 new words and raising sponsorship. “When Emma let Connie know about her website and what she was wanting to do for endangered animals, Connie wanted to help – partly I think to help her friend, but also because she too loves animals and wildlife.” Said Connie’s Mum.

Connie has now learned the names and identifying features of 50 birds and has raised £70 in sponsorship which she has added to the funds Emma is raising for The Gorilla Organization.
