When it comes to the Great Gorilla Run, Bill Oddie is quite simply a legend!

BBC wildlife presenter and all round, Goodie, Bill Oddie has been official starter and runner medal distributor for as long as the Great Gorilla Run has been in existence.

Sadly he was ill last year but we’ve got every finger and toe crossed in hope that he’ll be back to full working order for the Great Gorilla Run 2010.

After his last appearance at the Great Gorilla Run 2008, Bill gave the run the perfect accolade:

“This is the most fun event for conservation going on anywhere in the world”
