Saving an endangered species is often portrayed a battle – a fight to save a species from extinction.

This is particularly applicable to gorillas, as some of their last refuges are unfortunately located in African war zones such as the eastern Congo.

So although the gorillas themselves are entirely peaceful – they’re highly sociable vegetarians – it’s entirely appropriate that some should adopt the character of a boxer for the Great Gorilla Run.
